The 2024 Presidential Election was officially certified by Congress on Monday and went much smoother than four years ago. As President of the Senate, Vice President Kamala Harris officially announced Trump and Vance the winners of the 2024 election

WASHINGTON ,D.C. – On this day four years ago, supporters of then-President Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol in an attempt to hault the election certification. Since then, there have been many security changes and policy changes in hopes that another January 6 will not happen again.  

The 119th Congress began today and the first order of businesses was electing the Speaker of the House. After winning over a handful of Republican holdouts, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R- LA) was elected by his colleagues to serve a 2nd term as Speaker.
