On Tuesday, the U.S. House passed its first bill of the 119th Congress, the Laken Riley Act. The legislation deals with a key campaign priority for Republicans in the 2024 elections: border security. 

Under a bipartisan law passed by Congress and signed by President Biden last year, TikTok must cut ties with China-based parent company, ByteDance, before January 19 or else be banned in the U.S.
