WASHINGTON, D.C. – Six days into the government shutdown and it looks we might be in a shutdown for a little longer. On Capitol Hill, Democrats and Republicans continue to play the blame game as the pause in funding impacts government programs.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – It’s day three of the government shutdown and there’s no end in sight, yet. Senate Republicans were unable to find enough support across the aisle to pass their short-term funding bill. Democrats maintain they want to include additional healthcare programs in the bill.
The budget stalemate in Congress is rippling far beyond the Capitol dome. All military personnel will remain on normal duty status and must report for work. Nearly half of the Pentagon’s civilian employees could be furloughed- no work, and no pay.

Democrats want to expand access and reverse past cuts, but Republicans argue their funding proposal would open the door to healthcare coverage for unlawful immigrants. Each side is accusing the other of lying about where federal health care dollars are spent.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – As the federal government shutdown saga continues, the President Donald Trump is seizing the shutdown as an opportunity to slash the federal workforce. Trump shared on social media he and his budget director will decide which so-called “democrat agencies” to cut during the shutdown. The president is looking to use the shutdown to make swift changes to the federal government’s bureaucracy.
