WASHINGTON, D.C. – Virgin Islands Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett (D- USVI) along with House Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D- NY) and other congressional members, visited Barbados over the weekend.
The congressional delegation met with government officials and regional experts to talk about ways to increase security and advance economic and climate goals in the region. While on the island, they also celebrated the 58th anniversary of Barbados’ independence.
The congresswoman’s office said the trip builds upon other previous visits to the Caribbean from officials with the Biden-Harris administration where they look to help build trade and development in the region.
