Candidates in Competitive Pennsylvania US Senate Race to have Second Debate

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick will have their second debate Tuesday night in Philadelphia. This US Senate race is one of the most competitive races in this year’s election. The outcome of this race could help determine which party controls the already narrowly divided Senate.

We expect a similar back and forth between the two candidates as we saw during the first debate. In the first debate, each tried to paint a picture of their opponent. Casey described McCormick as a wealthy ex-hedge fund CEO whose business dealings served the interests of the wealthy and foreign heads of state like China. McCormick described Casey as a weak career politician who will try to position himself with Vice President Kamala Harris.

In the first debate the candidates touched on important issues like the economy, immigration, abortion, fracking, energy and foreign affairs. We expect the candidates could be questioned on issues like: how to lower costs for food and buying a home; and defending our democratic institutions.
