Alanis joined One Caribbean Television in 2020 and calls it “an amazing experience.” She identifies stories of interest for the audience and reports on activities in Puerto Rico.
Alanis is enthusiastic about aspiring “to help the channel expand and grow”. Her philosophy is to “aim for my coverage not to have a sensationalist focus. News, either good or bad, should be presented staying true to their reality and context.”
She says the One Caribbean mission is to put “ourselves in the position of the viewer and work towards what they would want to see, what they would want explained, and what they would want to hear. Thinking like the people is an essential part of the coverage I aspire to always keep in mind while in the field.”
Based in San Juan, her reports are on One Caribbean News. She also makes appearances on sister station CBS, Puerto Rico. “The best thing about the Caribbean would definitely be its vibe, color and the potential it has to give so much more than just bad news. While also covering topics that require a more serious tone, I aspire to also highlight positive stories about the Caribbean’s contribution to the world.”Meet the Team
