WASHINGTON, D.C. – The White House has rescinded a memo from President Trump’s budget office that directed agencies to temporarily freeze federal aid and grant money. This announcement follows legal challenges and confusion across America about the funding pause. 

It was a busy weekend for the Trump administration, as more top cabinet members were officially sworn in. Pete Hegseth and Kristi Noem were confirmed less than 24 hours into the weekend. They join a growing list of cabinet secretaries.

The US built the canal in the early 1900s to facilitate the transit of commercial and military vessels between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Control of the waterway was relinquished to Panama in 1999.
