WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressional lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, are pushing the Department of Justice to condemn the Insular Cases. From 1901 to 1922, a series of the Insular Cases helped shape the landscape for people in US territories. These cases have helped shape the rights, or the lack thereof, for people living in the territories.
The historic impeachment trial for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary wrapped up just before 4:30 p.m. after two party-line votes declared both articles brought against Mayorkas, unconstitutional.

Today, House Republicans delivered articles of impeachment against DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate. In February, Mayorkas, the top immigration official in the U.S., became the second cabinet official in U.S. history to be impeached.
