One Caribbean Television announces an all-new special that examines the continued recovery in the Bahamas from Hurricane Dorian.
Host Emily Matson recently returned to investigate the rebuilding process. Treasure Cay and Marsh Harbour suffered the greatest losses from the hurricane. The category five storm destroyed thousands of homes and killed dozens of people.
“Bahamas Road to Revival” explores heroic work of nonprofit organizations that continue to help displaced residents. Matson shows how the Red Cross is working to help people find housing. She also returned to the Ranfurly Home for Children to see how the orphanage is coping with a sudden surge of children after Dorian.
Family members who swam to safety during Dorian update their situation following their harrowing experience. The special includes an update with survivors first interviewed during OCTV’s original special report produced just after the September hurricane.
The Bahamian economy remains dependent on tourism and OCTV shows how that industry continues to thrive and help with the restoration efforts.
